Thank you for this great reply (and to everyone who gave me help on this) I was about to take out a subscription to Musescore, but you've saved me from spending money that I didn't need to. Musescore really is a very good tool for scoring If your piece is not too long and complicated, my advice would be to enter the notes in directly into a blank musescore file - It takes a little while to learn, but there is a lot of help on the net, and the time it takes will be well spent The tip is to use a very clean greyscale pdf 300 dpi for best results The auto-bot will them attempt to read the score and send you back a Musescore file (mscz) There is NO paid version of Musescore - The Pro+ feature is simply a subscription that allows you to download scores than other people have uploaded - Many of them professionals and some of the scores are from the original publishers (they obviously need paying) - But many scores are free and downloadable once you have registered for a free accountįrom the File Menu - choose Import pdf - This will open ( ) which allows you to upload a pdf score. Musescore is a fantastic free Music Score editor - It is developed as part of a community - The new version 4 with its sample sounds is way ahead even rivaling Sibelius, actually the interface is way better than (imho)
